ABOUT THE COURSE

These graduates are expected to be creative in creating pharmaceutical jobs and able to compete in the global market through scientific and professional education. The Pharmacy Study Program has two areas of concentration: Clinical and Community Pharmacy and as well as Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. To respond to the changes in the paradigm of health services, which originally oriented on products (drug oriented) and now shifts to patient (patient oriented), the competitive excellencies of this study program are realized in the field of Clinical and Community Pharmacy. In addition, JGU’s Pharmacy Study Program also develops local wisdom excellencies in the field of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology through the development of natural materials to be used as medicine in health care. As an effort to enhance the competitiveness of its graduates, this study program runs student centered learning system in addition to classical methods to encourage students to be active and independent in the process of learning and lab work. The Pharmacy Study Program has an adequate laboratory to support teaching and learning, practicum and research.

MISSION

  1. Provide a teaching system and academic climate in the field of pharmacy that is conducive to the community and facilitates the continuous exchange of knowledge.
  2. Carry out research and community service in the pharmaceutical sector in line with industry needs.
  3. Applying the latest learning outcomes and knowledge in the pharmaceutical field in industry and society.

 

OBJECTIVES

  1. Produce graduates who have the knowledge, attitudes, and analytical and synthetic abilities to help solve various problems in the pharmaceutical field.
  2. Produce graduates who can carry out the latest and original scientific research in the pharmaceutical field in accordance with industry needs.
  3. Produce graduates who are able to carry out community service in the field of pharmacy.
  4. Produce graduates who can work independently or in teams, establish cooperative relationships with various related parties, and provide scientific benefits in the pharmaceutical field for the global community.

  • Highschool graduate or equivalent
  • Diploma III, Polytechnic, Academy or equivalent
  • Diploma I, Diploma II, or S1 graduates from all majors or transfer from state/ private universities

CAREER PROSPECTS

Pharmacy graduates are pharmacists with S.Farm. title. Pharmacy graduates have the opportunity to occupy jobs in various pharmaceutical facilities such as pharmacies, hospitals and Community Health Centers. In addition, pharmaceutical education graduates may also dedicate themselves as pharmaceutical professionals by working in governmental institutions (BPOM and Health Office); various industries including medicine, food, herbal medicine, herbal and cosmetic industries; research institutes; clinical laboratories; quality testing laboratories; drug information agencies, health insurance agencies; and can take part in the field of education as academics in pharmacy high school.
