General Rules and Regulations

  • Library users must present their library membership card clearly when entering the Library. Library membership card is not transferable.
  • Smoking, consumption of food and drink, is not permitted in the Library.
  • No bags, umbrellas, parcels, etc. except files and books may be brought to the library. Adequate storage facilities have been provided at the entrance of the Library. The library is not responsible for the loss or misplacement of personal items in its premises.
  • Visitors must maintain order in the library.
  • The phone is limited to silent mode only.
  • Users should dress modestly and behave in a good manner in the Library.
  • Users must keep the library clean.
  • Pets are not allowed in the Library.
  • Seat reservations are not permitted. Library staff has the right to pick up items left on the table within a specified time period.
  • Users are not allowed to move library furniture and equipment from their original place.
  • Library staff have the right to ask a user to leave the library if he or she is found to have violated any of the Library regulations.
  • The library staff on duty is entitled to checkbooks, archives, and other materials removed from the library.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against library users found with material from the library collection, without proper permission.
  • The Chief Librarian is authorized to withhold the Library facilities for any violation of this rule.
  • The Head Librarian may amend the Library Rules and Regulations if necessary.
  • All library members must comply with the rules and regulations.

Library Locker

  • Lockers are open to all users of the Jakarta Global University Library.
  • Users who want to borrow lockers are required to report to the officer in advance
  • Maximum usage from 8.00 to 22.00. If the user exceeds that, the library is allowed to open and eject items.
  • Placing posters or other items in lockers is not permitted.
  • Lockers must be emptied in a clean condition.
  • The library is not responsible for any loss or damage to materials stored in lockers.
  • For further information relating to lockers should be submitted to the clerk at the library counter.

Collection Loan

  • Students show active student cards or temporary student cards, while lecturers show employee cards or library cards to officers.
  • Invalid student card / cannot be loaned to others.
  • Students who have obtained a Library Free Certificate (SKBP), cannot borrow books from the library including for photocopying.
  • Reference Books (Books, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Magazines, Journals, Final Projects, Thesis) can only be read on the spot.

Loan Allocation

  1. JGU Undergraduate Student
    • Maximum loan: 4 different titles.
    • Maximum loan term: 1 week (without extension).
  2. JGU Masters Program Students
    • Maximum loan: 5 different titles.
    • Maximum loan term: 2 weeks (no extension).
  3. Lecturers and Education Personnel
    • Maximum loan: 6 different titles.
    • Maximum loan term: 3 months (without extension).
  4. Alumni and Non-JGU: Borrow from the library only
    • Limited collections and favorites: 1 week loan period.
    • CD Book Collection: Loan period of 2 days.

Sanctions

  • Late repatriation is subject to a fine of Rp. 3000, - / day.
  • Deletion / destruction of books must be replaced with the same book, if the same book is not available, the borrower replaces the book with a relatively equal price and the contents are determined by the Head of the Library Service.
  • Locker key returns during service opening hours, after service hours, are subject to a fine of Rp. 5,000 / day.
  • Removing the locker key is subject to a fine of Rp. 25,000.
  • Visitors / library users who do not meet the requirements can be given academic sanctions and revocation of membership.

Additional Rules

  • Visitors / library users must actively participate in complying with the rules that have been set and maintaining order, cleanliness / tidiness of the environment.
  • Books that have been read leave on the table or in the space provided.
  • Visitors must leave the library, including the public reading room, after the library services are closed.
  • Students who need a Library Free Certificate (SKBP) can contact the general circulation section, provided that they no longer have borrowed books or lockers in the library.
  • Students who have passed are required to submit a Final Project in the form of:
    • Thesis Report (3 pieces)
    • Softcopy of thesis report (on CD as much as 1 piece)
    • Job Training Report (3 pieces)
    • Miscellaneous (Tools, A3 Posters, etc.)
  • Things that are not included in this regulation will be determined later.

Membership

Requirements

  • Library members are all JGU Academic Civitas.
  • The student shows an active KTM, the lecturer shows an employee card.
  • There are two types of library cards available at the JGU library, namely printed cards and online membership cards
  • The membership period is valid as long as you are active as a JGU student.
  • Visitors from outside the JGU campus, can take advantage of library services with the following conditions: show a valid identity card and be charged a fee of Rp. 10,000,- / visit

Code of Conduct

  • Member card (printed/online) must be brought every time you visit
  • Membership cards cannot be loaned to other people
  • If the membership card is lost, it is obligatory to make a certificate of loss and a letter of agreement regulated by the library.

Catalog and Classification System / Documentation System

Library collections are cataloged, classified and organized according to international standards. The JGU Library and Resource Center used AACR2 (Anglo American Cataloging Rules 2) to catalog all materials and DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) LCC (Library of Congress Classification) and National Library Medicine (NLM for medical books) to develop number calls. As for the subject headings, the library uses LCSH (Library of Congress Subject Headings) as a reference.

Discussion Room Borrowing

  • Borrowing discussion room for students showing the active KTM or temporary KTM, while the lecturer shows the employee card or library card to the librarian
  • Fill out the Consultation Room Loan Form
  • Consultation room loan is done at least 1 hour before using the room.
  • The room can only be used during library service hours.
  • Detention of membership card/KTM by officers as long as the room is still used by visitors.

Collection

The Jakarta Global University Library has many types of collections, ranging from Fiction to Science Materials, from printed materials to digital collections such as CD-ROMs, CDs, VCDs and DVDs. The JGU library also collects daily serial publications such as newspapers as well as monthly serials such as magazines.
